Teacher360 recently facilitated a professional learning session on Emotional Intelligence for the educators of Appollo National Public School, Bengaluru led by Mr G. Balasubramanian.
Conducted as the school commenced the new academic year, the session explored emotions, self-awareness, relationships, happiness, and personal well-being through reflections drawn from philosophy, neuroscience, classroom realities and the Mahabharata.
Educators engaged in meaningful conversations on emotional balance, empathy, belief systems, human behaviour, and the importance of reflective practices in personal and professional life. The interaction also highlighted concepts such as Sthitha Pragna and the role of emotions in shaping responses, relationships, and overall well-being.
A key insight that emerged through the session was that emotional intelligence is not merely about understanding emotions, but about understanding oneself, one’s responses, relationships, beliefs, and engagement with life and people.
